The project aims to revitalize the national cultural monument, blast furnaces No. 4 and No. 6, and the casting hall of the former Vítkovice Ironworks, based on a design by architect Josef Pleskot. Their transformation into a new function, while respecting the historical value of the building, will create an innovative industrial museum, including the preparation of its future socially beneficial activities and services.

  • Total eligible costs: CZK 1,335,059,187.88, of which the EU contribution is CZK 1,134,800,309.7 and state budget funds are CZK 200,258,878.18.
  • Total ineligible project costs (own resources): CZK 194,516,000
  • Beneficiary: MUSEum+, Industrial Museum in Ostrava, contributory organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic

Financial support was granted by issuing a Decision on the Award of a Grant: Ref. No.: MK 45951/2025 OSF dated June 25, 2025.

Horizon Europe 

MUSEum+ participates in the international project SINCERE: The second life of modern period architecture: Resilient and adaptive renovation towards net-zero carbon heritage buildings.

The research project aims to develop new low-carbon plasters for structural reinforcement and thermal modernisation of historic 20th century buildings.
